Window never calls the model API
What it does
A model-agnostic harness, and a desktop window in front of it. The window does not call a model API. It speaks newline-delimited JSON-RPC to scopacli serve --stdio, protocol 0.2.0.
01 · Model
Bring your own model
OpenAI-compatible endpoints, plus Anthropic and Google when those extras are present. Built-in names include openai, grok (xAI), openrouter, groq, together, fireworks, deepseek, mistral, ollama, anthropic, and google. Switch provider or model mid-session. The history stays.
02 · Coder
A plan, then the edit
Open a folder. The first reply is a short plan: files, commands, risks. Nothing is written until you approve. Then it edits, re-reads, runs the project’s test or lint command when it can find one, tries a fix once or twice, and stops. Stop interrupts. Undo restores the last change this session made. It is not a git reset.
03 · Sessions
The thread stays on disk
Messages, replies, and tool receipts. List, resume, name, and export with secrets stripped. Long sessions compact locally. The status line shows the folder, the mode, the model, and the turn count.
04 · Git
Status and diff, no push
Read status and diff from the window. Commit asks first and does not push. It stages only the files this session touched.
05 · MCP
Servers you add yourself
Add servers in mcp.json, stdio or HTTP/SSE. Search the official MCP registry, inspect, install, and remove. Install and remove ask for approval. A failed server is reported. The others keep running.
06 · Grants
Permission, not a free shell
Reads stay in the working directory. Writes only in granted directories. Shell is off unless you allow it. Tests and web are separate grants. Plan mode hides mutating tools.
07 · Receipts
What the turn actually did
Draft and final models. Each turn records the provider, the model, the tools, and the tokens. Cost appears only if the provider sends it. A repo pack map, and image or file attachments when the model can take them.
08 · Researcher
Search you choose
DuckDuckGo is the default. Also Wikipedia, Brave, Tavily, SearXNG, Google CSE, Bing, Exa, and Kagi. Then web_fetch, corpus_search, and write_brief.
09 · Secretary
Drafts, not the outbox
Letter, memo, agenda, and standup templates. Drafts are written only in the draft directory.
How it works

Install
Soon. Each installer will include the window and the frozen CLI. There is not a second CLI download.

Add a provider key
Put the key in the environment, or run scopacli auth set. The file is mode 0600. The window never asks you to paste a secret.

Open a folder
Approve the plan. The coder does not write until you do. Stop interrupts. Undo puts back the last change this session made.

Uninstall later will not delete config, sessions, or keys. The install folder omits the apostrophe so paths stay valid. Unsigned macOS builds will need a right-click, then Open.

A mode is a system prompt plus a tool policy. Your overlays live in ~/.config/scopacli/modes/.

Keys live in the environment, or in the file written by scopacli auth set (mode 0600). The window never asks you to paste a secret. There is no hosted account and no telemetry.
